In some of the works, animals are presented as&nbsp;if they were found in a tar pit all jumbled together: the head of an&nbsp;tarpan has appeared on the ancient whale, and the cow antelope has the body of a manatee. In some works, I present the animals as they were when they were alive. Heidi Lahtinen (born 1984) is an artist who lives and works in Helsinki. She graduated from the Free Art School’s painting program in 2011 and&nbsp;began her master’s studies at the Academy of Fine Arts&nbsp;in early 2025. In recent years, her technique has been&nbsp;tufting and she has also utilised various plastering techniques. The&nbsp;Two-headed horse&nbsp;at Galleria&nbsp;Napa&nbsp;is her&nbsp;ninth solo exhibition. Kultakonnat elivät runsaslukuisina noin neljän neliökilometrin alueella Monteverden kaupungin pohjoispuolella Costa Ricassa. Viimeinen havainto kultakonnasta on vuodelta 1989 ja laji on sittemmin listattu sukupuuttoon kuolleeksi. Näyttelyn teemana ovat sukupuuttoon kuolleet eläinlajit. Osassa teoksista eläimet on sommiteltu sikin sokin kuin tervahaudasta löydettyinä: jaavantiikerille on ilmestynyt muinaisvuohen pää ja lehmäantiloopille merilehmän ruumis. In some of the works, animals are presented as if they were found in a tar pit all jumbled together: the head of an&nbsp;tarpan has appeared on the ancient whale, and the cow antelope has the body of a manatee. In some works, I present the animals as they were when they were alive. Heidi Lahtinen (born 1984) is an artist who lives and works in Helsinki. She graduated from the Free Art School’s painting program in 2011 and started her master’s studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in early 2025. In recent years, her technique has been tufting and she has also utilised various plastering techniques. The Two-headed horse at Galleria Napa is her ninth solo exhibition. Her works have also been on display at various joint and group exhibitions.Kaksipäinen hevonen Näyttelyn teema on sukupuuttoon kuolleet eläinlajit. Osassa teoksista eläimet on sommiteltu sikin sokin kuin tervahaudasta löydettyinä: muinaisvalaalle on ilmestynyt arotarpaanin pää ja lehmäantiloopille merilehmän ruumis. Joissakin teoksissa eläimet esiintyvät sellaisena kuin ne olivat eläessään. Heidi Lahtinen (s.1984) on Helsingissä asuva ja työskentelevä kuvataiteilija. Lahtinen valmistui taidemaalariksi Vapaasta Taidekoulusta vuonna 2011 ja aloitti maisteriopinnot Taideyliopiston Kuvataideakatemiassa alkuvuodesta 2025. Lahtisen tekniikka on ollut viime vuosina tuftaus, minkä lisäksi hän on hyödyntänyt töissään erilaisia rappaus- ja valutekniikoita. Golden toads once lived in large numbers in an area of about four square kilometers north of the city of Monteverde in Costa Rica. The last sighting of the golden toad dates back to 1989 and the species has since been listed as extinct. The theme of the exhibition is extinct animal species. Kultakonnat elivät runsaslukuisina noin neljän neliökilometrin alueella Monteverden kaupungin pohjoispuolella Costa Ricassa. Viimeinen havainto kultakonnasta on vuodelta 1989 ja laji on sittemmin listattu sukupuuttoon kuolleeksi. Näyttelyn teemana ovat sukupuuttoon kuolleet eläinlajit. I stayed the night near the hut and pitched my tent next to a small hill to prevent the wind from blowing directly at the tent. From the tent, the peaks looked like the teeth of a giant – rugged, black, yet gentle. The evening colored the sky blue and yellow. The sun was low and a golden eagle flew from the north towards Kilpisjärvi. It was a beautiful, peaceful and calm night. I fell asleep. In my dream, roots and junipers grew through the bottom of my tent. Mountain plants began to cover the tent walls and soon my reality was lined with small beautiful flowers. The ground swallowed me. Jäin yöksi tuvan läheisyyteen ja valitsin telttapaikan pienen kumpareen viereltä, jotta yöllä ei tuulisi suoraan telttaan. Huiput kurkottivat teltan suulta kuin jättiläisen hampaat – jylhät, mustat, silti lempeät. Ilta verhosi taivaan sinisen ja keltaisen sävyihin. Aurinko paistoi matalalta ja pohjoisesta liiteli maakotka kohti Kilpisjärveä. Oli kaunista, rauhallista, tyyntä. Nukahdin. Unessa telttani pohjasta kasvoi juurakkoa ja katajaa ympärilleni. Teltan seinät alkoivat täyttyä tunturin kasveista ja pian pienet kauniit kukat reunustivat todellisuuttani. Maa otti minut uumeniinsa. Katosin.
